Sustainability at the Filzmoos Ski School

Our Contribution to a Sustainable Future in Tourism

How does the Filzmoos Ski School contribute to sustainable development in tourism?

  1. Paperless Office: By using smartphones, both ski instructors and customers can access all information digitally — saving paper and helping the environment.

  2. Local Partnerships: We collaborate closely with artisans from Filzmoos, from carpenters to electricians.

  3. Purchasing from Sheltered Workshops: Our medals, giveaways, and merchandising items are produced by sheltered workshops.

  4. Fair Production Conditions: Our ski instructor uniforms are produced in the EU—ensuring short transport routes and high social standards.

  5. Short Distances: Our employees live directly in Filzmoos, reducing commute times and emissions.

  6. Eco-Friendly Slope Preparation: Slope preparation is done with equipment powered by HVO100, a nearly CO₂-neutral fuel.

  7. Regionally Produced Equipment: The conveyor belt, rope lift, and carousel in our practice areas are manufactured in Austria.

  8. Habitat for Wildlife: In summer, our practice field is used as a meadow, providing habitat for deer, hares, and various bird species.

  9. Green Energy: The electricity we use is generated from hydropower provided by Salzburg AG.

  10. Regional Partner: We have partnered with the ski company ATOMIC, a regional ski manufacturer, as a strong local partner.
