Here we have collect the most common questions we have received over the years. It perhaps won’t answer all of your questions, but we hope that this little guide is of help. In special situations these answers may not be correct, so please contact us anytime! We are happy to assist you in person!
We recommend at least three days; then you also have the benefit of only paying the extension rate if you wish to extend the course. The course program is developed for a week. We highly recommend that beginners take a minimum of a 3-6 day course, so that you have some basic skills to safely bring you down the slopes.
We accept cash, EC/Maestro/Cirrus-Card and bank transfer. Sorry, no credit cards!
Classes should be taken consecutively, because your group will learn new things every day. Should you skip days you might have to change groups. Please consult your ski instructor.
During Christmas/half-term holidays - YES!
Outside the holiday seasons, we generally have enough space in the group courses. Though, during Christmas/February periode groups can be booked out quickly. We recommend that you book online to speed up the registration process at the ski school office.
We have Dutch ski instructors, and some of the Austrian staff also speaks a little Dutch. Most of our ski instructors speak English (some are even native speakers). We cannot guarantee that you will be assigned to an instructor that speaks your language, but please let us know your preferences. We will try to accommodate your wishes.
The difference is that with the introduction card the child has the opportunity to try if he or she likes it. Is the course extended for more days, the price for this card is deducted from the normal course rates.
From 4-years-of-age in group lessons.
For 2+3-years-of age we offer our Snow Bunny Crew for approx. 45 min.
For four-year-olds we offer a half-day course (Kids Star Club), while children 5y+ have class all day.
We recommend that children should be 8 years old for the snowboard course, but younger children are also welcome after appointment.
Yes, but we ask you to purchase it a day in advance (or at the very latest in the morning until 10:30 am) at the ski school office.
Basically, the earlier the better! However, we would ask you to do this at least 7 days in advance, as we then have every opportunity to assign teachers.
If you can't make it before then, we can book any teachers that are still available!
You can make the reservation in the office, it is also possible by telephone, e-mail or in the online shop!
Mostly this is not a problem, but we ask that you inform us as early as possible per phone, fax or E-mail. By group courses we cannot guarantee that your choice instructor is available.
Generally, groups are assigned on Sundays and Mondays, but intermediate skiers can start taking classes any day during the week. New beginner courses also start on Thursdays on request (Min 3 people).
No problem. Please inform the ski school office, so that we can rebook the course.
There are four sports retailers in Filzmoos, all very good. We work together with these stores. You find the retailers at https://www.filzmoos.at/de/ausruestung-verleih.html
Generally, refunds are only possible by illness or injury (with doctor’s note). But, we do have a variety of offers (introduction course, extending courses, etc.), which reduce the “risks” for you. Should something go wrong after all, you can always reschedule or change course within the offers of Ski School Filzmoos.
We have gradings on our nursery slope behind the office for all those who have skied before which start approx. 30 min before the lessons start. First-timers are asked to come to their meeting points stated on their ticket and will then be assigned into groups according to age and language. Please speak to your instructor or the manager if you want to change group.
In the future there will also be classification videos where you can pre-classify yourself.
Yes! The grading for all participants is held in our meeting/grading area which are only a few meters away from each other. The children will be cared for until picked up by their parents.
Yes! When you book a course at least three days long, you can choose to add on days (up to 3 more) and pay just a few Euros more.
The group programs are designed for weeklong participation, with ski races and fun at the end of the week. It makes sense to take part in all the fun! But of course you can choose fewer days.
Group assignment is generally based on skill, age and language. If your children have approximately the same skills level, please inform us before group assignment and we will do our best to place them in the same group! Should one child ski better, this child must then care for the other(s) during the lessons.
No. Your instructor will advise you which ticket type is the most suitable for you when you need one.
We offer half-day courses for advanced/intermediate/expert adults, in our Kids Star Club (4-year-olds), Nordic Skiing and private instruction. All other courses are four hours long (two hours in the morning, two hours in the afternoon).
For organizational reasons, we are unfortunately unable to offer half-day courses in the Kids Fun & Action program during the high season in February.
Ski Passes are sold separately. You find the rates at https://www.filzmoos.ski/en/tickets-prices/tickets-prices/
